Moving forward on LOGREENER toolkit

21/10/2024

The Project Technical Committee is working hard to produce the LOGREENER toolkit, a jointly developed toolkit for local authorities to plan and deploy the sustainable energy transition based on the synthesis and upscaling of PRISMI, COMPOSE and LOCAL4GREEN projects outputs.

For defining the key areas for the optimization of the novel toolkit to be created by LOGREENER, all project partners have made interviews to key stakeholders, using a template and guide produced by our partner TUC-ReSEL, to gather feedback on their priorities, challenges, needs and capacity on green transition planning, and also their perception and recommendations on the usability and effectiveness of the COMPOSE, PRISMI and LOCAL4GREEN tools. During the 2nd Steering Committee, a Technical Committee Meeting was held on 18th October 2024, where TUC-ReSEL presented the following key findings from the interviews analysis:

  • Environment protection and decarbonization of energy systems, increase of RES share and clean fuels were amongst the core priorities of the respondents.
  • User-friendliness and access to databases are identified were the most important features of a practical online toolkit.
  • The importance of multilinguality, which differed across the participating countries.
  • Online courses and interactive tutorials were proposed as the most efficient capacity building methods.

Taking this into account, the Project Technical Committee has been working to identify usability improvements, integration and compatibility scenarios to incorporate the LOCAL4GREEN and PRISMI outputs into the COMPOSE toolbox, for which new sections have been created. Also, they have worked to update the COMPOSE interface, replacing broken links, improving its usability and adding new resources. The next steps will be the development phase of the LOGREENER toolkit-web platform, the testing of the toolkit and the preparation of the training pack on its application, for which all partners will contribute and work in close collaboration.

We are moving forward to have our toolkit available soon!
